St. Michael’s Sanctuary is committed to providing a tailored outpatient solution for healthcare professionals managing substance use and mental health challenges. Unlike traditional inpatient rehabilitation programs, we offer a flexible Intensive Outpatient Ambulatory Program (IOAP) designed specifically to meet the demands of healthcare professionals. This program allows professionals to continue fulfilling their professional duties while receiving critical treatment. Our program’s structure supports a safe and effective return to work, ensuring that professionals can remain engaged in their practice while addressing their recovery needs.
Our weekend-based program is strategically scheduled from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening to accommodate prescribers' often hectic and irregular hours. This flexible scheduling reduces conflicts with their professional responsibilities and minimizes the need for work absences. By integrating treatment into their personal and professional lives, we help minimize the incidence of treatment disruptions due to scheduling conflicts, reschedules, or cancellations—factors that can compromise both the therapeutic process and public safety.
At St. Michael’s, our approach prioritizes public safety, ensuring that professionals who are struggling with substance abuse disorders receive the support needed to safely return to their roles. By closely monitoring their progress and maintaining regular communication with the PHP and employers, we ensure that safety standards are upheld throughout their recovery journey.
It is crucial to emphasize that St. Michael’s is a non-religious, inclusive facility open to professionals from all backgrounds. We provide a non-judgmental environment where healthcare professionals can seek the care they need while maintaining their professional obligations and upholding their responsibility to the public.
